| Carol earned her Broker's license in 1985 and was a very successful realtor with a large firm in the metro Milwaukee area for 15 years. She obtained her GRI and CRS designations in 1988 and 1989. Carol and her husband Dave moved to Door County in 1999. He is a watercolor artist, and Door County has been the subject of much of his artwork. Carol began her Door County real estate career as soon as they arrived. They are both members of the Door County Art League. He majored in art at UWM and Carol studied art at Cardinal Stritch College. They now reside in Fish Creek, ironically just steps from the entrance to the park where her family story began. Her grandfather, AE Doolittle was the first superintendent of Peninsula State Park from 1912-1944. Much of what we enjoy in the park today was a vision of her grandfather’s. Her mother was raised in the park and graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1923. Both Carol and Dave are volunteers for the recently formed Friends of the Park, and are also on the Centennial Committee which is planning the events for the celebrations taking place in 2009 for the park's 100th birthday.
Carol is a member of The National Association of Realtors, The Door County Board of Realtors, and The Wisconsin Realtors Association. As a family they have sponsored chldren through World Vision since 1975, and she has traveled to Mississippi to help with the Hurricane Katrina disaster. In 2003 they were a host family for a young woman from Hungary. She married here, and Carol and Dave were the stand in parents for the wedding. Carol and Dave have two married daughters living in the Milwaukee area. The children and four grandsons visit often and are very proud of their Door County heritage. Carol and Dave purchased vacant acreage in 1980, and moved a small cottage from Egg Harbor to Liberty Grove. That is where the story started by her grandparents has continued to unfold, living full time in Sister Bay for four years and in Fish Creek since 2003. Carol’s other interests and hobbies include gardening, designing and making jewelry, exercising, and connecting with family and friends. The latest addition to their family is a long haired miniature dachshund named Sunshine. She has been deservedly spoiled, and life without her would be unimaginable!
