Worked for the Manitowoc Two Rivers YMCA for 17 years where he served as swim team coach leading the first swimmers ever from Manitowoc to the YMCA National Swim meet. He developed the youth tennis program that is still in existence today. He left the YMCA as its Associate Executive Director in 1990.

Owned Lakeshore Screen Printing with his wife for 17 years (sold in 1998).

Started many fund raisers including the YMCA half beard games, Chili Bowls for United Way and the Manitowoc Air Show, the steak dinnner for Roncalli High School and the still running Holy Family Memorial Oncology Unit salt water aquarium 'Spaghetti Italiano' fund raiser.

Bob was born and raised in Manitowoc. He attended parocial schools, graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968, and attended U.W. Manitowoc for 2 years. He graduated from U.W. LaCrosse in 1974 and moved back to Manitowoc. His wife, Pat, and him have 2 grown children, Heather in Manitowoc and Trent, an attorney with the Kohler company. Bob has been very involved in the community since his initial employment at the YMCA. Bob worked in various capacities at the YMCA for 17 years before leaving to go into private business. He has been involved with many community fund raising efforts and is proud to have helped to raise over $82,000 for local causes. Bob is currently a full time Realtor with Coldwell Banker, The Real Estate Group, Inc.

In a depressed market, Bob Nelson sold my home. To me, that is the bottom line. Aside from this, my eventual buyer had some very "interesting" problems securing her loan. Bob went far above his duties, as my representative, to make sure things went well, and protected my interests. Four years ago I started looking for a house with Bob. Unfortunately other demands in my life forced me to resort back to renting, so the house search was temporarily put on hold. Recently, with an expanding family and a serious need for my own home we took one more shot at the house hunt. Bob found the perfect house for my expanding family. We couldn't be happier!
