Did you know that Indiana is home to one of the country's most vibrant glass-making scenes? Traveling the Indiana Glass Trail is the perfect way to learn all about our state's rich tradition related to all things glass, from glass-blowing education to the beautiful, functional glass art that is created here. The Indiana Glass Trail covers five counties where you can visit historic glass manufacturing facilities, discover gorgeous, functional art glass made close to home, and see live demonstrations from local artisans.   • Minnetrista Cultural Center – 1200 N. Minnetrista Pkwy., Muncie, IN 47303
    The Minnetrista Cultural Center, located near Muncie homes for sale, explores the legacy of the Ball family who helped establish the glass industry in Indiana. The family moved their company, which produced the widely distributed Ball mason jars, from New York to Indiana in 1887. At the Minnetrista Cultural Center, you can learn more about the family, view artifacts from their historic facilities, and enjoy a collection of fine glass art that has been built up over many generations.

  • Dunkirk Glass Museum – 309 S. Franklin St., Dunkirk, IN 47336
    Located within the Dunkirk Public Library, the Dunkirk Glass Museum features one of the largest collections of art glass that you'll find anywhere. The collection includes more than 8,000 pieces of art, each with its own story to tell. Art glass housed in the collection comes from all around the world, including many pieces from close to home which were produced at the Indiana Glass facility in Dunkirk.

  • Kokomo Opalescent Glass – 1310 S. Market St., Kokomo, IN 46902
    The oldest producer of art glass in Indiana, Kokomo Opalescent Glass has been producing classic art pieces since it first opened its doors in 1888. Take a tour of the factory to see how this amazing art is produced, and watch the artisans in action. Then peruse the shelves at the shop, and find a unique piece of art for your home.

  • Warsaw Cut Glass – 505 S. Detroit St., Warsaw, IN 46580
    For a taste of living history, try a visit to Warsaw Cut Glass, which is one of the only facilities in the country still practicing the craft of cutting glass. The facility was established in 1911, with 55 glass cutters when it was operating at its peak. There is just one glass cutter remaining in practice, but you can still tour the facility to discover the history of Warsaw Cut Glass. The showroom features plenty of gorgeous glass pieces which are produced on-site, including dinnerware, oil lamps, and much more.
