So you've just settled into one of the wonderful Yorkville homes for sale, and you're ready to start meeting people. Enjoy some physical activity while making friends when you join an athletic league. Get the whole family in on the fun with these athletic leagues around Yorkville.

  • Yorkville Parks & Recreation - 201 W. Hydraulic Ave., Yorkville, IL 60560
    There's no off-season at Yorkville Parks & Recreation, which has athletic leagues running all year long. Kids' programs in baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball let them learn game rules and develop skills in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Soccer and T-ball are open to pre-K boys and girls, while all sports have leagues for K-12.     Housed in a spacious, versatile dome, Go for It Sports welcomes adults and kids of all ages and abilities. Justine Brummel, owner of GFIS, is an accomplished runner who wants to promote a higher level of community athletics in her hometown of Yorkville. Programs offered by GFIS include summer sports camps, a running club, and NFL flag football. Members also have access to the weight gym, track, turf, and basketball hoop. Fees are $40 per month for full membership and $25 per month for track use only. Personal training sessions are available for an additional fee. Visit the website for hours.

    Do you have a child who shows a real aptitude for sports? The Yorkville Athletic Association is a travel sports organization that gives teens and pre-teens an opportunity to develop their skills and learn good sportsmanship. Baseball, softball, and basketball teams for boys and girls compete under the name Yorkville Fury. Eligibility is not restricted to the local school district, and players from a wide area are welcome. Coaches are unpaid volunteers who are subject to third-party background checks. An off-season training program lets team members stay active and continue to develop their abilities.

    Want to unwind with some light-hearted competition? Perfect that 5-10 split on a bowling league at Yorkville Pinz. Bowling has long been a popular way to combine sporting activity with socializing. When you're ready to be outside in the beautiful summer weather, Yorkville Pinz has sand volleyball leagues. Monday night bag leagues are open to walk-ins and subs as well.     Take a break from adulting and indulge your inner child with the lively activities available at the Oswegoland Park District. Adult league sports include volleyball, softball, kickball, and floor hockey. Don't have a team? "Free agents" are welcome to be matched up with open opportunities. Weekend warriors can join in on pickup basketball games on Sunday mornings at Oswego High School, just down the street from Oswego homes for sale
