Riverside Players

Easy access to community theater is just one of the many perks of choosing Neenah homes for sale. No matter if you decide to participate, spectate as an audience member, or support it some other way, our real estate agents want to help you stay advised about all the opportunities out there.

The local Riverside Players are gearing up for a new season, and we have everything you need to know. If you love laughter, excitement, and tears in a welcoming community environment, you will definitely want to join them in their beautiful outdoor venue.

Let's take a closer look at this spectacular line-up!

What You Can Expect from Riverside Players and "Theatre in the Park"

The Riverside Players are the centerpiece of an enduring community theater program in Neenah. Each summer, the players put on a number of family-friendly performances. Auditions are typically held in April or March, while shows run through June and July.

In 2020 and 2021, the Riverside Players had to cancel many productions due to disruption brought on by the pandemic. As a result, the upcoming season will see them back in full force and fine form, appearing for the first time since the earlier canceled season. They are ready and raring to go!

The Riverside Players program was launched in 1955 and has 66 successful seasons behind it. It's funded through a combination of municipal sponsorships and community involvement. The scenic environment sets the program apart as truly unique in the state of Wisconsin.

The first performance will be The Savannah Sipping Society and it runs from June 22 to June 26. Director Laurie Friedman-Fannin will bring together the original cast that was chosen back in 2020. As a result, there'll be no auditions for this "laugh a minute" comedy centered on four unique Southern women.

The second performance of the season goes to The Addams Family: The Musical Comedy. It will run from July 21 to 24, followed by July 27 to 31. The Riverside Players will unite to bring these classic characters to life under the direction of Erick James Gyrion.

Sunday shows begin at 7:00 p.m., while all others have an 8:00 p.m. curtain time.

What to Know When You Want to Visit Theatre in the Park

Located at 500 East Wisconsin Avenue in Neenah, WI, Theatre in the Park takes place in an outdoor park shelter. Reserved seating is provided on padded chairs; you don't need to bring your own. Although the sides of the shelter are exposed, the custom netting is very effective at keeping bugs out!

Ample parking is available on North Park and Wisconsin Avenue, and the dress code is casual. Be sure to check the weather report beforehand and dress comfortably. Tickets are available by box office or up to two hours before curtain time, assuming sufficient seating remains.

Both of this year's productions are rated PG-13. For Savannah Sipping Society, tickets are $16 for adults 18 and up; students under 18 and seniors 65 and older are admitted for just $14. For The Addams Family: The Musical Comedy, adult tickets are $18, while students and seniors are admitted for $16.
