Rhubarb Festival

Local festivals and events are a great way to strengthen the community. They help bring neighbors together, promote local products and businesses, and oftentimes celebrate an area's unique history. In Shawano County, the community comes together every year with the annual Rhubarb Festival. This family-friendly community event is one many of our neighbors, and our real estate agents look forward to all year long.

Wisconsin is one of the best places to grow fresh rhubarb, so it's only natural that our local communities want to gather and share our favorite rhubarb recipes and dishes. Rhubarb season kicks off in Wisconsin in early May and lasts until late June. Over the years, we often celebrate the annual Rhubarb Festival in mid-June, and it's grown into one of the area's most popular community events. Today, visitors from all over the country travel to Shawano to attend the Annual Rhubarb Festival.

If you're planning to attend the 14th Annual Rhubarb Festival this June, read on for some important info on how to plan ahead.

About The 14th Annual Rhubarb Festival

The Shawano Annual Rhubarb Festival is not just a celebration of all things rhubarb, but it's also a great chance to learn more about Shawano history, be active in the community, and form friendships with your neighbors. The event is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Shawano Historical Society, and all proceeds towards the organization's mission: Preserving the culture and history of Shawano County.

One of the event's highlights is the "Everything Rhubarb" bake sale, where you'll find some of the most delicious local rhubarb-based dishes. Rhubarb pie, rhubarb soup, rhubarb jam -- you never know what you'll find at the bake sale.

In addition to rhubarb, you can also discover local craft vendors, food vendors, beer, a plant sale, and museum tours. The Shawano County Library will also host a craft event. You can even enjoy live music from Burnt Toast & Jam and BLT.

Also, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts in Shawano County, there will be an honorary exhibit hosted by the Sikora Center with a huge collection of items.

This year's Rhubarb Festival will feature fun for the whole family. There will be several exhibits showcasing Shawano's history, which makes for a great learning experience.
