Join your friends and neighbors at beautiful Miller Park, one of the most popular in Bloomington, and get excited for Ugliest Sweater Run. It's just $10 to participate in the race, which starts at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. For $25, you can also receive a souvenir long-sleeve shirt. There will be a pair of non-competitive races to participate in, your choice of 3-mile or 1.5 miles. Prizes will be awarded.
- Kids Christmas Cookie Decorating Class – 504 Guido Circle, Bloomington, IL 61701
Santa Claus isn't the only one who loves holiday cookies – kids do, too! Sponsored by Janet's Cakes and Catering, Kids Christmas Cookie Decorating Class is just the thing. Children aged six through 15 have a chance to learn Christmas cookie decorating with Janet's signature almond frosting. All attendees must be accompanied by an adult. The supplies are provided, and you'll get to bring a dozen cookies home!
- Christmas at the Mansions – 1000 Monroe Drive, Bloomington, IL 61701
Christmas at the Mansions provides an amazing opportunity to see the historic David Davis Mansion in all its holiday splendor. This annual tradition returns on Saturday, December 10, between 2 p.m. and 7. With a group, visitors will tour both the David Davis Mansion and Ewing Manor, two of Bloomington's most iconic historical sites. Prepare to be transported back in time to Christmas in the 1800s!
- Music for the Holidays – 351 South School Street, Normal, IL 61761
Not far from Normal homes for sale, you can take in Music for the Holidays courtesy of the Center for the Performing Arts. It happens on Sunday, December 11, from 3 p.m. to 5, and costs no more than $15 to attend. You'll hear a collection of timeless holiday classics ranging from Vivaldi to "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
- Breakfast with Santa at the Zoo – 1020 South Morris Avenue, Bloomington, IL 61701
A face-to-face meeting with none other than Santa Claus himself is a memorable part of the holidays for lots of kids. Now, your child can have an exciting day of enjoyment where Santa is just one of the many attractions. Breakfast with Santa at the Zoo is held at the acclaimed Miller Park Zoo, which is also well known for its decorations and lights. It opens Saturday, December 10, at 8:30 a.m. and again at 10:00.
